How is the Domino Theory and the start of the Vietnam War related?

The domino theory it is a theory developed by America and other democratic countries. It was said that since the USSR was above all that like dominoes communism would slowly fall down and convert other countries to communism. Once north Vietnam begin showing signs of communism America in order to try and stop communism from spreading even further back the South Vietnamese in order to help stop the spread of communism. But that obviously didn’t work because afterwards the domino theory was proven correct since all the countries after Vietnam fell Switched to communism

The domino theory was the basis for the United States strategy of containment, and the reason for entering the Vietnam War. The domino theory basically stated if one new countrywent communist in Asia then it would begin a chain reaction that would cause several more Southeast Asian countries becoming communist.
