z = 98°

Explanation:

✅z + 82° = 180° (consecutive exterior angles are supplementary)

Subtract 82 from each side

z = 180° - 82°

z = 98°

✅(4y - 46)° + 82° = 180° (supplementary angles)

4y - 46 + 82 = 180

Add like terms

4y + 36 = 180

Subtract 36 from each side

4y = 180 - 36

4y = 144

Divide both sides by 4

y = 144/4

y = 36
