Answer:
Length side of triangle: 9 Inches
Length side of hexagon: 4.5 Inches

Explanation:

Triangle - 3 sides
1 side= (1.4x + 2 inches)

Hexagon - 6 sides
1 side= (0.5x + 2 inches)

Total perimeter of triangle = 3(1.4x + 2 inches) = 4.2x + 6 inches

Total perimeter of hexagon = 6(0.5x + 2 inches) = 3x + 12 inches

4.2x + 6 inches = 3x + 12 inches
4.2x - 3x = 12 inches - 6 inches
1.2x = 6 inches
0.1x = 0.5 inches

Side length of triangle =
0.5x = 2.5 inches
2.5 inches + 2 inches = 4.5 inches

Side length of hexagon =
1.4x = 7 inches
7 inches + 2 inches = 9 inches

Answer:

The side length of the equilateral triangle 9 inches.

The side length of the hexagon 4.5 inches.

The side length of the equilateral triangle = 1.4x + 2

So, the perimeter = 3(1.4x + 2) = 4.2x + 6.

The side length of the hexagon = 0.5x + 2

So, the perimeter = 6(0.5x + 2) = 3x + 12.

Given the the perimeters are equal.

So,

Hence,

The side length of the equilateral triangle = 1.4x + 2 = 1.4(5) + 2 = 9

The side length of the hexagon = 0.5x + 2 = 0.5(5) + 2 = 4.5
