Two semicircles make one circle

The formula for a circle is π
r^(2)

The radius (r) is 4 because the diameter is 8

so you plug it in and get 16π

The approximate value of π is 3.14

16 times 3.14 is 50.24
cm^(2)

so to calculate the area of the whole logo just add
72cm^(2) +50.24cm^(2) =122.24
