Explanation:

We are given a right angle triangle. So, we will use trigonometry.

sin 45 = opp/hyp

sin 45 = x/6√2

(1)/( √(2) ) = (x)/(6 √(2) ) \\

√(2) x = 6 √(2) \\

x = (6 √(2) )/( √(2) ) \\

x = 6

Now, for y

cos 45 = adj/hyp

cos 45 = y/6√2

(1)/( √(2) ) = (y)/(6 √(2) ) \\

√(2) y= 6 √(2) \\

y= (6 √(2) )/( √(2) ) \\

y = 6
