f(x)=-(1)/(2) x^(2) +x+1

Just plug in x = -2


f(-2)=-(1)/(2) (-2)^(2) -2+1


f(-2)=-(1)/(2) (4) -1

4 can be rewritten as
(4)/(1) or
(8)/(2) so it has a common denominator.


f(-2)=-(1)/(2) * (8)/(2) -1


f(-2)=-(4)/(2) -1


f(-2)=-2-1


f(-2)=-3
