Andrew Jackson was know as “the people’s president”, he was the founder of the democratic party, and he served as president from March 4, 1829 to March 4, 1837. During his time in office, he removed all federal funds to the national back, passed the Indian removal act, created a spoil system, and passed specie circular, an executive order that eventually led to the panic of 1837. His presidency was quite controversial, he was often compared to a monarch because of his abuse of his power to veto.
