No, usually you would do the math first before deciding which is the limiting reactant

2H₂(g) + O₂(g) -----> 2H₂O(g)

3mol= Hydro

2mols= O₂

The limiting reactant would be the smaller number after we divide the number of moles by the coefficient

H:1.5 3mol/2(c) =1.5

O2: 2 2mol/1(c)=2

Hydrogen is lower = limiting reactant
