Girl please help how do you graph y= 3x + 2

Answer:

The equation is in the form of y = mx + b which make it really easy to graph.

m = the slope

b = the y-intercept

You can make the first point at the y-intercept.

Where x = 0 and y = 2, or plot the point ( 0, 2 ).

Next we use the slope to start plotting new points.

The slope is 3 which, in rise over run form, is
(3)/(1) . Since 3 is positive we go up 3 units from the y-intercept and 1 to the right because it's positive. This makes a point at ( 1, 5 ). Then from that point go up 3 and 1 to the right again to get ( 2, 8 ).

We can continue using the slope to plot more points and then draw a continuous line through them to finish graphing the linear function.

Explanation:

Start at (0,2) or 2 on the y axis. Your slope is 3 or, 3/1 slope is always rise over run, so for every 3 you go up, you go over one. so make a dot at (0,2), then a dot at (1,5), then at (2,8). and so on. Always go to the right one and up three. If you need to go into the negatives, you will go left 3 and down one, so (-1,-1), then (-2,-4), and so on.
