How do Checks & balances help limit the government

Answer:

Checks and balances give each branch of government the authority to prevent actions of the other branch. Veto power is one example of this. The President has the right to veto a bill, but Congress may override that veto by a 2/3rd vote. This shows how the Legislative branch "checks in" on the Executive branch.
