X-3y=9 into a slope intercept form

Answer:

y=1/3x-3

Explanation:

Slope intercept form is: y=mx+b

so you need to leave y on one side and the others on the other side:

First, you need to move the x to the other side by subtracting x on both sides:

x-x-3y=-x+9

Simplify:

-3y=-x+9

Now you divide -3 on both sides to eliminate the -3 on -3y:

y=1/3x-3

Hope this helps!

You need to know what is a slope means first.
- Slope is m which is the gradient.
- the gradient formula is y=mx+b
-I.e mx represent the gradient and b is y-intercept.
- x-3y=9–> 3y=x-9
Then divide 3 to both side to cancel the 3y=y.
—> y=x/3-3
I hope this helps!
