substitute M = 2N - 3 into 4(N - 10) = 1 + M -10:

4(N - 10) = 1 + [2N - 3] - 10
4N - 40 = 2N - 12
2N = 28
N = 14

M = 2(14) - 3 = 28 - 3 = 25

Mike is 25 and Nuke is 14.
