It depends on their grade level. Seniors or juniors who have no interest in pursuing a career in science shouldn’t be forced to take engineering or other science related subjects but middle schoolers, freshmen and sophomores shouldn’t really have a say because they are still young and acting on impulse(they wouldn’t think of the result of their actions).
