if there no other info given to you then I guess the answer would be x = 2 since (a) would equal 6?

Answer:

x = 12/a

Explanation:

To find the value of x, divide both sides of the equation by its coefficient.

ax = 12

(ax)/a = 12/a

x = 12/a
