its a quadratic function so it is simplified into two brackets

put x in each since the 1st sign is negative then both of the brackets will have a negative sign as so

(x- )(x- )

now to put the numbers the 8x is formed my adding two numbers together and 16 is formed when multiplying these numbers so which numbers form 8 by addition and 16 by multiplication : 4 '' lowest common factor ''

the answer will be (x-4)(x-4)
