Mathematically, the line from the top vertix of an isosceles triangle is perpendicular to the base line

So what this mean is that it splits the base line into 2 equal parts

So, in this case, since AC is base;

AD = CD

25-x + x + BD = 40

25 + BD = 40

BD = 40-25

BD = 15 m
