First we want to start by getting “X” to be side of the equation and the rest to the other side.
I personally am going to put x on the right side.

Step 1:
Subtract 2x from both sides

The equation is now
-14=5x+6

Step 2:
Subtract 6 from both sides

The equation is now
-20=5x

Step 3:
Divide by 5 on both sides

The equation is now
-4=x

An there is you answer:
x = -4
