The acceleration = the slope of the graph (change of velocity / time)

= 25/15

= 1.67 m/s/s.

(b)

The distance moved = the area under the graph for the first 0 seconds,

= area of the first triangle + area of the rectangle with height 25 and length (40 - 15)

= 1/2 * 15 * 25 + (40-15) * 25

= 187.5 + 625

= 812.5 m.
