What are the differences between the British Law system from the 1700s to 1800s and the present-day US Laws System?

Early English customary law had some unmistakable characteristics. In contrast to current law, no head prosecutors or public examiners brought legal disputes against the blamed. It was up to the casualty of the wrongdoing to carry the case to the court and pay for it.
