Finding slopes of PQ and RS using slope formula

  • m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

Slope of line PQ

  • m = (-1 - (-4))/(-7 - (-9)) = 3/2

Slope of line RS

  • m = (-1 - 5)/(-6 - (-2)) = -6 / -4 = 3/2

Slopes are same, therefore lines are parallel
