So according to given statement

`x+(x+1)+(x+2) = 4x-9`

This is a linear equation in one variable, which can simply be solved by using equality properties

`x+x+1+x+2 = 4x-9\\3x+3 = 4x-9`

Subtracting 4x from both sides

`3x+3-4x = 4x-9-4x\\-x+3=-9`
