1. Mark charges $10 an hour to babysit with an additional flat fee of $20 for each babysitting job. He wants to purchase a new game system that will cost him $123.50. Write an inequality to show the least number of complete hours he needs to babysit if he has one job scheduled.

A. Solve the inequality that you created.

B. Mark is considering changing his rate to $ 15.00 an hour with no flat fee. What effect would this change have on the hours that Mark needs to work to buy the gaming system?

C. What conclusions can you draw about Jamie charging the flat fee and not charging the flat fee?

Please help!!

Answer: let x = amount of hours worked.

A. 10x + 20 >or= 123.50 --- 10x >or= 143.50 --- x >or= 14.35 hours.

B. 15x >or= 143.50 --- x >or= 9.57 hours.

C. Jamie would only have to work 9.57 hours to get his gaming system if he charged 15$ with no flat fee as opposed to 14.35 hours of work with the flat fee.

Answer:

Explanation:

A.123.50≤20+10(x)

103.50≤10x

10.35 hours at least to equal the 123.50.

10.35 hours *10 an hour is 103.50+20 flat fee=123.50

B. 123.50≤15(x)

8.24 hours or more. 15.00 an hour at 8.24 hours = 123.60

C. He will work less hours if he charges more and does not charge the flat fee.
