to be perpendicular the multiplication of the gradiens should be -1

m1 × m2 = -1 , m1 = 1/3

1/3 × m2 = -1

m2 = -3

and required equation passes through the point.( 0,1)

y = m2 x + c2

1 = -3 (0) + c2

c2 = 1

so the equation

y = -3x + 1

so , (⅓)(m2)=-1

m2= -3

y-y1=m2(x-x2)

y-1=-3(x-0)

y=-3x+1
