Quoted from INCLUDEnyc, "Students receive an NX if there is insufficient work to calculate a final grade. Grade 8 students in accelerated (high school level) courses receive an NX in place of a failing grade, in alignment with the policy for grades 9-12."

Answer:

"Students who receive a grade of “NX” will have the opportunity to complete their coursework in the summer or fall to convert their final grades to pass."
