There are lots of ways to combine them but the way I think would be the most simple would be to avoid negative numbers (although I personally enjoy it) but anyways,

First, you can add 5x to both sides of the inequality.

This would cancel out 5x and leave you with: 7x-3 > 11

The next terms that you can combine can be the constants. You can combine -3 and 11 and to do that, you add 3 on both sides. That would cancel 3 out and leave you with: 7x > 14

Now, the last step is to get x by itself and to do that, you divide 7 on both sides to get:

x > 2
