I'm assuming the base salary of this employee is $25.00

25.00+2%

Convert the percent into a decimal.

0.02

Now multiply.

25.00x0.02=0.5

Now add to the base salary.

25.00+0.50=$25.50

The 2% increase was $0.50

The total is $25.50
