$\implies8x - 8 = 180 - 100$

$\implies8x - 8 = 80$

$\implies8x = 80 + 8$

Why did we used the equation "(8x - 8) + 100° = 180°" to find x?

Because, sum of interior angle in the same side of two parallel lines are always equal to 180°.
