Answer

The point estimate of the mean is
\= x = 32

The margin of error is
E =6

Explanation

From the question we are told that

The lower bound of the interval is
a = 26

The upper bound of the interval is
b = 38

Generally the point estimate of the population mean is mathematically represented as

\= x = (a +b)/(2)

=>
\= x = (26 +38)/(2)

=>
\= x = 32

Generally the margin of error is mathematically represented as

E = ( b- a)/(2)

=>
E = ( 38- 26)/(2)

=>
E =6
