What challenge did newly independent countries have to face as a result of unchanged colonial boundaries?

Answer:

I know some challenges but i may be wrong. One challenge was there were no bouders set up yet. Therefore leading to fights on weather whos land is whos. If you take the Loussiana purcahce as an example. One explorer and his crew went to exlpore the land but didnt know he was in the Spanish territory. Therefore the spanish getting mad at the Americans for traspassing. Another example should be Transportaion This was when boundaries were set up. This made conflict between the U.S and the Spanish because back then the only Transportaion was by river (mainly the Mississippi) I think it was the Mississippi that ran into the Spanish territory. Therefore making transportaiton almost impossible back then because they had relied on the river so much and for so long that they had no need to look into any other transportation route.
