The The total perimeter of the kennel = 12·W + 7·L = 113

Were we are given L = 2 + 3·W

By substitution, we have;

12 × W + 7 × (2 + 3·W) = 113

33·W + 14 = 113

33·W = 113 - 14 = 99

W = 99/33 = 3

W = 3 ft.

L = 2 + 3·W = 2 + 3 × 3 = 11

L = 11 ft.

The area of each section of the kennel, A = L × W = 3 × 11 = 33 square ft.
