Answer:
After many years travelling, Odysseus finally returns to Ithaca wanting to reunite with his family. Once in there, Athena turns him into a beggar, in order to modify his appearance and hide him from the men that wanted to marry his wife. He goes to his home and meets his son Telemachus, who is the first and only (apart from one of Penelope's servants) to recognize him. He and a few other men close to Odysseus kill the suitors who intend to marry Penelope and gain power over his kingdom. Later, the suitors' families come to take their revenge on Odysseus, but then Athena intervenes to bring peace to the island.
