AB × BC = BD × AC

∵ AB = 12 units

∵ BC = 5 units

∵ AC = 13 units

→ Substitute them in the equation above

12 × 5 = BD × 13

∴ 60 = 13 BD

→ Divide both sides by 13 to find BD

∴ 4.615384615 = BD

→ Round it to the nearest hundredth

BD = 4.62 units
