Why is henry hudson a villian? Why is he a hero?

Henry Hudson is considered a villian because he made promises but never kept them. He also treated his crew aboard terribly. His crew began to starve and Hudson didn't do anything to help.

While he never found his way to Asia, Hudson is still widely remembered as a determined early explorer. His efforts helped drive European interest in North America. He's best known for his explorations of present-day Canada and parts of the northeastern United States. This gave us ore information about both areas.
