5(y+2/5)= -13 i think im solving for y

Answer:

y = -3

Explanation:

5(y+2/5) = -13

distributive property ( 5 x y is 5y, 2 divided by 5 is 0.4 x 5 is 2.)

5y + 2 = -13

take away 2 from both sides (2 is currently positive, so doing opposite)

5y + 2 - 2 = -13 - 2

divide by 5 on both sides

5y = -15

y = -3
