Explanation:

first find the area of the whole square (how i saw it), remember

it is made up of a circle drawn inside a square.

so we do the area of the square = 18²

= 324

next we find the circle which was drawn, the circle covers up the

whole shaded square.

diameter would be 18 as the length of the square was 18,

then we find the radius, 18/2 = 9

now we use πr²,

r would be the radius (9)

therefore it would be π(81) and we get 254.502

now we take away the area of the circle covering the square

from the area shaded in,

therefore 324 - 254.502

= 69.498
