How was the situation of Pompeii different than most archaeological finds? How did that difference help archaeologist understand daily Roman life.

Answer: in most archaeological finds, scientists are looking at bones. In Pompeii on the other hand, people were covered in lava which preserved their bodies exactly where they were when the volcano erupted, frozen in fear, holding each other. Even their pets bodies were found. Along with the bodies that were preserved, so were almost all of the artifacts located there. This helped them understand daily life because almost everything was in its place as it would be on a normal day.
