Answer: Mr. Diaz will have 21 pieces.

Explanation:

Given, Length of the complete piece bought by Mr. Diaz= 7 feet

Length of each piece cut =
\frac13 foot

By division operation,

Number of pieces = ( Length of complete piece ) ÷ (Length of each piece cut)


=7/\frac13=7*3=21\ \ [\because a/ (b)/(c)=a*(c)/(b)]

Hence, Mr. Diaz will have 21 pieces.
