A pet store has 40 animals for sale and 15 of them are puppies what is the ratio of animals that are not puppies to the total number of animals for sale at the pet stor

Answer: 5:8

Explanation:

Given: Total animals in the pet store = 40

Number of animals that are puppies= 15

Number of animals that are not puppies= 40- 15 = 25

Now , the ratio of A to B =
(A)/(B) or A : B.

So, the ratio of animals that are not puppies to the total number of animals for sale at the pet store =
(25)/(40)

Divide numerator and denominator by 5 , we get

Hence, the required ratio = 5:8
