Given:

Initial speed of typing = 35 words per minute

At the end of the course her typing speed = 77 words per minute

To find:

The percent of increase in her typing rate.

Solution:

We know that,

\text{Percent of increase in her typing rate}=\frac{\text{New speed - initial speed}}{\text{Initial speed}}* 100

\text{Percent of increase in her typing rate}=(77-35)/(35)* 100

\text{Percent of increase in her typing rate}=(42)/(35)* 100

\text{Percent of increase in her typing rate}=120\%

Therefore, her typing rate is increased by 120%.
