Why would all the colonies need to join together or die?

Answer:

Benjamin Franklin created the political cartoon Join or Die to symbolize how the colonies could not fight individually. It was a cartoon of a snake cut into 13 pieces each with the initials of one of the 13 colonies. The point of the cartoon was to show that they could never win the French-Indian war alone. If the colonies were to join in one united force then America could stand a chance in the war. The picture was also used to unite the colonies in the Revolutionary war.
