Final answer:

To get a result close to 51, you can use the operation (8 × 6) + 7 - 5, which equals 50, which is very close to 51.

Step-by-step explanation:

To arrive at a result equal or close to 51 by adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing the numbers 7, 8, 5, and 6, one possible combination is: (7 × 8) + (5 × 6). When we perform these operations, we firstly calculate the multiplication, getting 56 from 7 × 8, and 30 from 5 × 6. Then we add these two results together, yielding 56 + 30 = 86. However, this result is above 51. Upon revisiting our operations, we can tweak the combination as follows: (8 × 6) + 7 - 5. This gives us 48 + 7 - 5, which is equal to 50. While not exactly 51, it is very close and within the parameters of the problem presented.
