Answer:

all real numbers

Explanation:

2x+8=2(x+4)

First you need to distribute the numbers inside the parenthesis:

2(x+4)

=2*x+2*4

=2x+8

Next, look at the new, simplified equation

2x+8=2x+8

Since both sides are equal the solution is all real numbers

All real numbers means that x can be any number

Hi there! :)

Infinite solutions.

2x + 8 = 2(x + 4)

Distribute the 2 with the terms inside of the parenthesis:

2x + 8 = 2(x) + 2(4)

Simplify:

2x + 8 = 2x + 8

Subtract 2x from both sides:

2x - 2x + 8 = 2x - 2x + 8

0 + 8 = 8

Subtract 8 from both sides:

0 + 8 - 8 = 8 - 8

0 = 0

Therefore, there are infinite solutions.
