Write a two paragraph explanation of the difference between the electoral college and popular vote and the current election and what is happening.

First paragraph: What are the differences between electoral and popular vote? Make an argument for which system you think we should use to determine who our president is.

Second paragraph: Tell me what's going on right now in the election. What are the current totals? Which states are we still waiting for

Answer:

Thank goodness im bored, here it is:

Step-by-step explanation:

The Electoral vote is a group of electors chosen by the people. The electors then decide, usually based on the popular vote of that state, which candidate to choose. The first candidate to win 270 electoral votes wins the presidency, no matter the popular vote outcome. Popular vote is pure democracy in which individual people's votes are chosen. Popular vote is the pure voice of the people which is why we should be using that voting system to decide the president.

In the current 2020 election, no state has confirmed their voting. North Carolina and Georgia are still not 100% counted either. Based on the race right now with the Electoral college, Joe Biden won and is now the current President Elect.

I tried not to get political and chose the most popular answer. I hope this was helpful and what you were looking for.
