During the process of translation what happens immediately after the ribosomal subunits bind to the mrna strand

I think, from what I remember….when the mRNA strand binds to the ribosome, the codons are matched with the complementary anticodons, these trigger a release of set amino acids, and via condensation polymerisation, amino acids bond together to produce a polypeptide, this folds into different structures and once reaching a tertiary structure, they perform their role as a functional protein.
