Answer:

9bows

Explanation:

From the question we were told that Layla needs 1/3 of a foot of ribbon to make a bow, this can be represented as;

1/3 foot = 1 bow

If she has 3feet of ribbon, the amount of bow she can make can be expressed as;

3feet = x

Equating both

1/3 foot = 1 bow

3feet = x bow

Cross multiply

1/3 ×x = 3

x/3 = 3

Cross multiply

x = 3×3

x = 9bows

Hence Layla can make 9bows out of 3feet ribbon
