Answer:

Society plays a role in prostitution because there is little structural support for the poor or people who have problems holding down a conventional job because of substance abuse or other factors. There are also social factors where the media objectifies women.

Step-by-step explanation:

Prostitution is a complex social problem because it involves many dynamics from society. There are underlying economic factors that drive women to work in the industry because she only has access to low paying jobs that require a lot of hours. In the prostitution business, she or he can make more money more quickly. They might also have substance abuse issues that make it hard for them to hold a conventional job. Society enters here in that we provide little support to people who are low-waged or who have addiction problems or other barriers to working a conventional job.

Society also plays a role in that the media sells the idea that men should objectify their sexual partners and see it as something they are entitled to so it creates a demand for prostitution. Our rights and freedoms are also a factor in that consenting adults have rights to their own choices and privacy. This makes it a gray area in terms of ethics and what can legally be implemented.
