Substituting equation 2 into equation 1, we have;


3f + 2(1.37) = 5.44


3f + 2.74 = 5.44

Rearranging the equation, we have;


3f = 5.44 - 2.74


3f = 2.7


f = (2.7)/(3)

f = 0.9 pounds

Therefore, the weight of each football is 0.9 pounds.
