Hi student, let me help you out! :)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
We are asked to find the area of this circle.
![\triangle~\fbox{\bf{KEY:}}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/rxrm1u2llykj7j4tyhnr5bl3cxltsdceck.png)
→
![\bf{Area_(circle)=\pi r^(2)}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/75e48d7slj2s5v502nk5wh2q13afguyt37.png)
Notice that we are asked to use 3.142 for
(pi).
The radius isn't given to us; what we have instead is...the diameter.
To find the radius, we divide the diameter by 2.
Remember this...
![\fbox{\bf{To\;find\;the\;radius,\;we\;divide\;the\;diameter\;by\;2}}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/reivrku54q3bquzldpvw2xihnu4tocm4mo.png)
Thus, the radius is
![\bf{9/2=4.5}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/hq5pbkwu29vk6aru0yj0jhiyxgfhk1cjh7.png)
Now substitute the values (3.142 for pi and 4.5 for r):
![\bf{A=3.142*4.5^(2) }](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/ru0lxmwuhvpe0qa5bbhmg8pmzvqzon31ew.png)
Simplifying,
![\bf{A=3.142*20.25}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/ss4p3xsuhzwczi5pr2ha32gy2gfo04bn9b.png)
Simplifying,
![\bf{A=63.6255\:m}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/u9qnax1fqos5hvyk2efx9m36chf6qox481.png)
Rounding to 2 decimal places (D.P.):
![\bf{A=63.63\:m}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/5rsue9qtjyp3uo4c6yzz2x9wcvighrncad.png)
Hope it helps you out! :D
