The sum of two numbers is 52. The greater number is 4 more than the smaller number. Which equation can be used to solve for the smaller number? (5 points)

if the smaller number is 4 more it can be represented as x+4 and then you add x to the greater number to get 52 which is why the equation is x+(x+4)=52

Because if it were C or D it would be the product and not the sum
