into saving and spent $29.99 on a new shirt. He wants
to buy socks for $6.25 per pair. What is the maximum
number of pairs of socks he can buy?

Answer:

Alex can buy "3" socks

Explanation:

75- 25 =50

50- 29.99 = 20.01

20.01/ 6.26= 3.02

Since you can't get a portion of a sock you just take the first number (which is 3). Therefore, Alex can only buy three socks.
